A new clip from Moon Knight sees Khonshu (F. Murray Abraham) eavesdropping on a conversation between Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac) and Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke).
In a clip posted to IGN's YouTube page, Harrow takes Grant around a city, talking about how it once had an incredibly high crime rate. However, due to his work, people now feel safe. He also notes that people in the city learn several languages and are, generally, living well. Unbeknownst to either Harrow or Grant, Khonshu is listening in from a nearby rooftop.
Created by Doug Moench and Bill Sienkiewicz, Khonshu first appeared in 1980's Moon Knight #1. One of the gods of Ancient Egypt, Khonshu resurrected Spector following the mercenary's untimely death and gave him superpowers. Over the years, Khonshu has flipped between being a protagonistic and an antagonistic force, as the Moon God has on several occasions broken bad in a big way. Most recently in the comics, Khonshu attempted to take over Earth and usher in the "Age of Khonshu."
Moon Knight follows Marc Spector, a mercenary with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). At the start of the series, his Steven Grant alter is working as a gift shop employee in a museum with suspicious gaps in his memory. However, he soon finds himself pulled into a danger due to a mystery involving the Egyptian gods and enigmatic cult leader Arthur Harrow, who is a servant of the goddess Ammit. At the end of the first episode, Grant allows Spector to take over their body to stop a monster summoned by Harrow.
While early reviews for Moon Knight are positive, the project was review-bombed due to the first episode's acknowledgement of the Armenian Genocide. It's also not clear at this time just when -- or if -- Moon Knight will next appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Earlier this month, Isaac revealed he's only agreed to do the Disney+ series for Marvel Studios and has not officially signed on for any future projects.
New episodes of Moon Knight release Wednesdays on Disney+. The next installment of the series, which was written by Michael Kastelein and directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, is the second of Moon Knight Season 1's six episodes.
