A new promo for Marvel Studios' Moon Knight showcases the hero's mission statement.

In the television spot, titled "Choice," Oscar Isaac's Marc Spector explains to his alternate identity, Steven Grant, that their mission as Moon Knight is to "protect the vulnerable and deliver justice." The promo also includes a look at the hero's bulletproof cape, which also takes the shape of a crescent moon, and May Calamawy's character, Layla El-Faouly.

Moon Knight was created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin and debuted in 1975's Werewolf by Night #32. In the comics, Marc Spector is a mercenary who is betrayed and left for dead by his comrades. However, the Egyptian god Khonshu chooses to give Marc a chance to redeem his violent life and make him the bearer of his powers on Earth, or "the Fist of Khonshu," instructing Marc to use his new powers to protect and avenge the innocent.

The series will consist of six episodes overall and executive producer Grant Curtis stated that the series will tell a completely new story with no ties to anything else in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "He's brand-new, and he is going on a brand-new adventure," Curtis said, going on to explain that Moon Knight is "taking Marvel Studios to its Iron Man and Tony Stark roots." He said, "That was a character that was obviously built from the ground up, and it is the same with Marc Spector."

Marvel Studios president and Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige described the upcoming series as "brutal" as well, saying that it will push the boundaries for other Marvel content previously released on Disney+. However, despite the series' brutality, Curtis has also claimed that Moon Knight is ultimately a story of self-discovery.

The first official trailer for Moon Knight premiered on Jan. 17 and gave audiences their first full look at the MCU's dark new hero, teasing intense action sequences, Ethan Hawke's villainous Arthur Harrow and how Isaac's Marc Spector/Steven Grant will cope with his DID. Disney+ released the official synopsis for the series along with the trailer, which further revealed the mind-bending plot, spotlighting Steven Grant as he is thrust into a "deadly mystery" involving the "powerful gods of Egypt."

Isaac, who has starred in critically acclaimed films such as Ex Machina and Show Me A Hero, recently called his role as Moon Knight one of the biggest challenges of his acting career. "I could not wait to get to set, and it was the biggest workload I've ever had in my career and most challenging; by the sheer amount of stuff we had to do in eight months, and even yet, I couldn't wait to get to set and work," he said.

Moon Knight premieres on Disney+ on March 30.
