Ethan Hawke recently credited Oscar Isaac with helping him decide to join Marvel Studios/Disney+'s upcoming Moon Knight television series."Well, it's where I'm at as an actor. A lot of it, to be honest, I love the fact that Moon Knight is a lesser-known story and allows more creative freedom," Hawke told The Ringer. "The director is Mohamed Diab and he's a brilliant guy. I've seen a couple of his movies and wanted to work with him anyway. I had a meeting with him about another project of his."RELATED: Moon Knight: Ramy Star Joins Disney+ Series in Mystery Role

Hawke added that Isaac's involvement in the project, however, is what really sealed the deal for him. He then proceeded to praise the Star Wars sequel trilogy star.

"I like what he's doing with his life," Hawke said. "He reminds me of the actors, when I first arrived in New York, that I looked up to. Oscar's younger than me and I like the way he carries himself and I like the way he thinks." The actor added, "And in general, good things happen when you're in the room with people that you like the way they think, right?"

Also, Hawke conceded that he likes to join projects that speak to the period of time he's living in, noting, "I'm trying to live in my time. And I'm trying to do good work... With the time that I'm given. In the world of art, in the world of creativity... You're gonna make good decisions, you're gonna make bad decisions," he continued. "But the one thing you're definitely in control of is the thought you put into what you're doing."

While Marvel Studios has not officially announced Isaac as part of Moon Knight's cast, the show's cinematographer Gregory Middleton recently confirmed his involvement on social media. Specifically, when one of Middleton's followers asked if Isaac was confirmed, he replied, "He is, that's why I included that headline. :) Can't give any details of course."

It was previously confirmed that Hawke will portray an unknown villain in the Moon Knight series and Ramy actor May Calamawy was also cast in an unspecified role.

Directed by Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead and written by Jeremy Slater, Moon Knight does not yet have a release date. The series will debut on Disney+.
