The first episode of Moon Knight is now streaming, and fans are loving their introduction to the new character. Moon Knight is a unique character who can bring a lot of new elements to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the first episode alone, it appears that Moon Knight will be working hard to expand the mystical elements of the MCU. Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch have really been the only people to use magic so far, but Moon Knight looks to be going beyond just magic and bringing in far more mystical elements than before. This can lead to new character introductions and a lot of great new stories for the franchise to explore.

Moon Knight is a character who is deeply connected to the mystical realm. In the comics, Marc Spector was killed and then resurrected by the Egyptian god Khonshu, the god of the Moon. Marc's powers come to him from both his training and his god. He often fights more mystical enemies, and the show seems to be tying him in to those elements even further. This is great news for the MCU as it continues to expand. Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch have done a fantastic job of bringing magic into the MCU, but now Moon Knight can begin to take it in a more unique direction.

Moon Knight bringing in the idea of serving a deity opens the door for other heroes with similar motives. Ghost Rider is one hero that could benefit greatly from Moon Knight's introduction to the MCU. The characters are similar in the sense that their lives belong to a power that is beyond their understanding. Establishing Moon Knight in the MCU can pave the way for the Spirit of Vengeance and some pretty incredible team-ups. Moon Knight looks to also be bringing in some more mystical creatures and beings, which can lead into the upcoming Blade movie.

Blade is a Daywalker, a vampire and a man, who hunts the vampires that plague the world. Fans have already seen Moon Knight take down a mythological creature in the first episode, so vampires are no longer a far-fetched idea in the MCU. Moon Knight and Blade could be strong teammates, and some people even suspect that Ethan Hawke's character is actually Dracula. While this is a different type of mysticism than wielding magic spells, it definitely allows for a wider range of stories and characters than people previously thought possible.

Moon Knight is an interesting property for Marvel because it's something very different for them. The show will test the waters to see if audiences are ready for a different type of Marvel property. From the positive reviews of the first episode, fans are definitely ready to interact with more of the mystical elements of comic books. Allowing creators to bring in more complex and darker characters can help break the MCU out of some of the monotony that it has been in since Avengers: Endgame. The studio has been exploring the mystical with titles like Spider-Man: No Way Home and WandaVision, and Moon Knight is once again subverting what MCU fans have come to expect.

Moon Knight leaning heavily into the mystical elements of the character and his Egyptian god helps to break down that barrier for other characters. Allowing filmmakers and showrunners to use strange and mystical characters, like Blade and Werewolf by Night, invites viewers to a different type of comic book movie or show than they're used to, thus keeping the MCU fresh and new. Moon Knight certainly feels fresh, and fans are eager to see more of the character in the coming weeks.

Moon Knight is streaming new episodes every Wednesday on Disney+.
