Moon Knight executive producer/director Mohamed Diab and star Oscar Isaac have seemingly announced Season 2 of the Disney+ series.

Diab's daughter recently posted a video to TikTok that shows her father sitting next to the star of the Marvel Cinematic Universe show. In the video, she asks the two "the question on everyone's mind" -- whether the popular series will receive a second season. "Why else would we be in Cairo?" Isaac answers before the footage ends.

In the wake of Moon Knight's Season 1 conclusion in May, a second season of the series seemed unlikely. Disney and Marvel Studios all but confirmed the show would remain a miniseries when Moon Knight was submitted for Emmy consideration in the Limited Series category. Isaac also provided a less-than-hopeful update on Moon Knight in May, saying, "You know, I think we approached it as, 'This is the story, and let's just put everything out on the table on this story.' There's definitely no official plans to continue it. I think it would depend on what the story is."

More recently, however, Diab affirmed his interest in continuing the Moon Knight story. In particular, the director expressed a desire to delve into the personality of Marc Spector's mysterious alter-ego Jake Lockley, who was introduced at the very end of the series' first season. "I want to see his world," Diab said. "Everyone is so intrigued about him, and [I want to] see what happens in between those blinks and who he is and what does he love and who does he love. It's very interesting for me."

Moon Knight writer Jeremy Slater also recently addressed a continuation of the series' storyline, touching on Jake's unknown motives. "Is he going to be a friend? Is he an enemy? I think all those are really exciting questions for whoever takes up the reins," Slater said. "Whoever gets to tell the next Moon Knight story, whether that's me or someone else, that is an exciting promise. This guy's story is definitely not done."

Moon Knight follows unassuming museum gift shop attendant Steven Grant (Isaac), who discovers that he has Dissociative Identity Disorder by way of a mystically powerful alter-ego. Steven learns that the personality that cohabits his body, Marc Spector, is the superhero Moon Knight, a powerful being who serves as the vengeful avatar of the Egyptian god Khonshu. The pair team up to stop sinister cult leader Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke) from resurrecting a formidable deity called Ammit. Moon Knight's Season 1 post-credits scene introduced Jake Lockley as Marc's third personality, a character well established in the Marvel comics.

Season 1 of Moon Knight is currently available to stream on Disney+.
