Moon Knight returns an obscure vigilante to the Marvel Universe.

Scarlet Fasinera first appeared in Moon Knight #14 from 1981, and has been rumored in the past to appear in the upcoming live-action series on Disney+. In her comic book debut, she shot and killed her own son, Joe Fasinera, and swore off using guns. In her vigilante exploits, she took on the moniker of "Stained Glass Scarlet" while using a crossbow as her weapon of choice, and she holds a psychic connection to the hero. Being that Moon Knight was a servant of the Egyptian god Khonshu, this psychic connection may be shared by Moon Knight's enemy-turned-ally, Hunter's Moon, who acts as the "Fist" of Khonshu.

In a preview for Moon Knight #8 written by Jed MacKay, drawn by Alessandro Cappuccio and titled "Scarlet," Hunter's Moon experiences a psychedelic vision of Stained Glass Scarlet. Being that Scarlet does not hold any real powers, it is likely that this is a vision being experienced by Hunter's Moon, similar to the ones Moon Knight would have of her due to their connection. Scarlet's dialogue also calls back to many elements of the character's history, from the rhyming story of her life as a nun to the symbol she would leave at the scene of her victims.

According to the preview, Hunter's Moon is no hero in Scarlet's eyes. When he first squared off with Moon Knight in the current series' third issue, he attempted to harm his friends in an attempt to get the hero "back on the right path." Though Moon Knight beat him and threw him out of his Midnight Mission, Hunter's Moon did later save Moon Knight from the villain Zodiac. If Scarlet is right though, it seems that there may be a lot more bloodshed from Hunter's Moon's past that has yet to be explored.

At this point in time, Moon Knight is locked up in prison. He was captured by Wilson Fisk's Thunderbolts after the Powers Act was enacted by the Kingpin, which began his war on superheroes in New York City. The upcoming Devil's Reign #4 will feature a jailbreak of Moon Knight and other heroes, with the upcoming Moon Knight issue set to be the only tie-in to the event from the ongoing series.
