WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Moon Knight #3, available now from Marvel Comics.

Marc Spector's return to action as Moon Knight has come with an all-new mission that has brought down on him the fury of a brand new enemy as well. Hunter's Moon, the second Fist of Khonshu, has come to correct the errors of Marc Spector's ways with the same brutality as Moon Knight would himself.

And in Moon Knight #3 by Jed MacKay, Alessandro Cappuccio, Rachelle Rosenberg and VC's Cory Petit, the Hunter's Moon reveals his one major advantage against the Marvel hero; he has the experience of every other champion who's served his patron god Khonshu, a gift that Marc never got.

Spector has more than enough on his plate already, but the arrival of Doctor Badr has introduced a whole new layer of problems for the Moon Knight. Badr, the previously unseen Fist of Khonshu, has been watching Marc closely, and he hasn't been impressed. As far as Badr is concerned, Moon Knight has strayed from the divine path they are both supposed to be walking, and he has no problem violently interrupting one of the hero's nightly sweeps. Despite how capable he is, Marc has a surprising amount of trouble keeping up with his new adversary, mostly due to the incredible power he has been imbued with by their shared patron god.

During their battle, the Hunter's Moon comments on how sloppy his opponent's moves are, unlike the graceful ones that he himself employs. For this reason, Badr wonders aloud if Marc Spector was never given Khonshu's Gift of the Chorus, which fives him the experiences and prowess of all former champions of the deity.

Considering the tumultuous relationship between Khonshu and Spector and the negative effect the god has had on Marc's mental state, this is especially disheartening for Marc. Despite his years of service, Spector has never received offers for any kind of gift like that. This could be due to Hunter's Moon's place in the god's inner circle, or simply because of how vicious Marc Spector already was. Whatever the case, it is clear that the threat of Hunter's Moon is a far greater threat than originally anticipated, even if he still doesn't know how to fight as dirty as Marc.

Despite all of his skill and strength, Hunter's Moon doesn't quite have what it takes to overcome Moon Knight. With the unexpected boon from Khonshu, Hunter's Moon is a formidable threat, but Marc Spector still has some surprises of his own that make him one of Marvel's most unpredictable heroes.
