WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for "Gods and Monsters," the Season 1 finale of Marvel Studios' Moon Knight, streaming now on Disney+.

The season finale of Marvel Studios' Disney+ original series Moon Knight hides a short but significant message in plain sight.

During a rather pivotal scene in "Gods and Monsters" -- the sixth and final episode of Moon Knight's debut season -- there is a message on the wall written in Arabic. When translated, it reads "Khonshu lives," subtly celebrating the Egyptian God of the Moon's return after being imprisoned in a statue a few episodes prior, thus temporarily stripping Marc Spector (Oscar Isaac) of his abilities as Moon Knight.

Starring the Marvel Comics character of the same name, Moon Knight premiered on Disney+ on March 30. The show is described as a six-episode limited series, meaning the Season 1 finale can effectively also be seen as the series finale. By all accounts, Moon Knight's six episodes were designed to tell a complete, standalone story, though many fans are holding out hope for a second season -- or at least further Marvel Cinematic Universe appearances by the Fist of Khonshu.

Counting Moon Knight, Marvel Studios has put out a total of five live-action Disney+ series set within the MCU thus far, the other four being WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and Hawkeye. There's also Marvel Studios' animated Disney+ series What If...?. Thus far, the only two of these shows confirmed to be returning for second seasons are Loki and What If...?.

That being said, while they are also limited series, the events of WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be followed up on in upcoming MCU feature films. WandaVision leads directly into the fast-approaching Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, while The Falcon and the Winter Soldier sets up a fourth Captain America movie, which currently lacks an official title, though is expected to begin production this month.

However, while the Moon Knight finale confirms that Khonshu is indeed back in business, it remains to be seen if (and when) MCU fans can expect to see his avatar in action again.
