Moon Knight costume designer Meghan Kasperlik recently shared a major Easter egg fans missed in one of the Disney+ series' psychiatric hospital scenes.

Kasperlik revealed a small yet important detail hidden in the outfit worn by Layla El-Faouly (May Calamawy) when she interacts with Mark Spector (Oscar Isaac) in the hospital, in an interview with Digital Spy. "So Layla -- the leggings, the print that is on her leggings when she is Scarlet Scarab, we did that print on her leg, on her sweatpants, in the mental institution," she said. "If someone looks really close, they can see that that’s a mirrored print. So it’s like: in his head, what has he seen in the mental institution that he's like, 'When are we seeing it later? What is really happening?'"

Kasperlik added that similarly subtle foreshadowing is worked into the costumes worn by two other characters, Arthur Harrow and Bertrand Crawley, in the psychiatric hospital scenes, too. These location-specific wardrobe changes represent only a fraction of Moon Knight's overall costume count, as Kasperlik previously revealed that she and her team made nearly four dozen tailored suits for Mr. Knight alone. The costume designer explained that this was because Mr. Knight's all-white costume needed to look pristine at all times, and noted that even with 47 back-ups on hand, visual effects were needed to erase fabric stains from some shots.

While a lot of energy clearly went into making Stephen Grant's superhero persona look his best, Kasperlick has since confirmed that no time was spent developing an equally impressive crime-fighting kit for Jake Lockley. The third and most ruthless of Marc Spector's alternate personalities, Lockley dons civilian clothes for his post-credits debut and it seems there never plans for him to get a masked adventurer outfit of his own. "No, there wasn't another [suit] for Jake," Kasperlick said. "That was kept pretty hush-hush, Jake coming in at the end, so nobody had [that] little spoiler. But when he came everyone was really excited."

Even if Kasperlick had designed a superhero suit for Lockley, it's unclear whether Isaac himself would have worn it. Several unnamed visual effects professionals recently claimed that the award-winning actor didn't take part in any of Moon Knight's action scenes in which the titular character wears his costume. Disney+ has yet to officially confirm whether this was indeed the case, however.

All six episodes of Moon Knight are currently streaming on Disney+.
