Moon Knight is facing one of the most important battles of his life and, no matter what happens, some version of him is likely going to win.

The cover for the upcoming Moon Knight #14 by artist Stephen Segovia (Hellions, Knights of X) features the titular hero in the midst of what seems to be an agonizing conversation between his own various personalities. Written by Jed MacKay (Black Cat, Death of Doctor Strange) and illustrated by Alessandro Cappuccio (Strange Academy Presents: Death of Doctor Strange, Fantastic Four Anniversary Tribute) the issue is poised to see Marc Spector taking on not only an emerging legion of vampires but his own inner demons as well.

  • The scars of Zodiac’s attack linger with the faithful of the Midnight Mission, but that doesn’t stop Moon Knight from picking an entirely new fight. A new arc begins as Moon Knight goes to war with the vampires of the Structure, but he finds it a battle on two fronts–one on the midnight streets, and the other within his own mind!

First appearing in 1975's Werewolf by Night #32 by Dough Moench and Don Perlin, Marc Spector was a marine-turned-mercenary who had developed dissociative identity disorder during childhood. While on a mission in Egypt, Marc turned on fellow gun-for-hire Raul Bushman, landing him on the verge of death. After being left behind, Marc found a new life thanks to the ancient moon god Khonshu. As Moon Knight, Marc was afforded newfound powers, as well as a renewed sense of purpose as a costumed vigilante.

Not long after Marc took up a career in crime-fighting, the hero began putting his other personas to work, albeit to his own detriment. Among these alternate personalities were financier Steven Grant, as well as cab driver Jake Lockley. Over the years these personalities have waxed and waned in prominence, often leading to drastic consequences for those involved in Marc's personal life. These inner struggles have only been exacerbated by Khonshu's presence within his mind, something which poses its own unique challenges and threats. These personalities have also made their way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe courtesy of Moon Knight starring Oscar Isaac.

Moon Knight #14 by Jed MacKay and Alessandro Cappuccio goes on sale Aug. 3.
