WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Moon Knight #9, available now from Marvel Comics.

In the Marvel Universe, Moon Knight is one of the many heroes that doesn't operate with a close-knit collection of allies that help make their job infinitely easier. That said, the new Moon Knight series (by Jed MacKay, Alessandro Cappuccio, Rachelle Rosenberg, and VC's Cory Petit) has shown the hero in a new light with friends that help him through thick and thin. As a result, the hero that has often been considered Marvel's Batman once again parallels the Dark Knight by building his own Bat-Family of sorts.

In this new run, Moon Knight has chosen to uphold Khonshu's oldest decree of protecting nighttime travelers. In a location known as the Midnight Mission, he now takes up any requests from residents in Manhattan that may have any concerns in their area. Once given, he takes to the streets and inflicts his own brutal brand of justice. But with a congregation where everyone is his children, there is a lot of administrative work and intel gathering needed.

To help lighten the load, Moon Knight has employed the help of a young woman named Reese. Reese is the snarky receptionist of the Midnight Mision who was forcibly turned into a vampire. Before Moon Knight could kill her, he noticed she was just as much of a victim, and she quickly became his right hand. In a way, she mirrors Batman's Oracle/Batgirl, who is also highly intelligent, resourceful, and independent. Thanks to Reese, Moon Knight never forgets the smaller yet still important aspects of his work.

Soldier is another ally to Moon Knight's cause that the hero saved after being mind-controlled. An ex-Hydra agent, Soldier renounced his ways and has since devoted himself to helping Moon Knight in any way he can. He's tactically skilled and has a fierce loyalty to those who support him, no matter the circumstances. In that essence, he embodies the loyalty of the Robins, but his brutality as a soldier is most reminiscent of Jason Todd. Thankfully, Soldier shows no signs of unchecked brutality or unwillingness to aid his new ally.

Moon Knight's latest addition to his battle against evil comes in the form of the Midnight Mission. What was once known as The House of Shadows, the living building that exists in many worlds has now become the hub for Moon Knight's nocturnal activities. Due to its accommodations, it appeared like a Batcave of sorts that served as a location for rest and planning the hero's next moves. There hasn't been a showcase of its capabilities as of yet, but the building served as a testament to how Moon Knight can relate to outcasts and turn them to the side of good.

This latest chapter in Marc Spector's life has proven to be his most challenging but rewarding yet. As of now, he has built up a small collection of trustworthy and loyal friends who are willing to aid in any way they can. But like all things in Moon Knight's life, their length of stay will solely rely on how he treats them as people. Because, unlike Batman, Marc has way more personal demons to contend with, which could potentially taint the bonds he's formed so far.
