All this month I'll be reviewing different comic books with LGBT themes (LGBT standing for "Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Transgender"), based on submissions from the actual creators of the comic books themselves. Here is an archive of the comics featured so far!

Today we take a look at T-Gina #1 and #2, the collected work of Gina Kamentsky

T-Gina is a very amusing look at the life of a male-to-female transgendered woman. It is an offbeat look at the trials and triumphs of living as a transgendered woman in the 21st Century, where transgendered men and women are more accepted than pretty much any other time in the history of the United States, but there is still a great deal of misconceptions about them.

In her work, Kamentsky dispels these ideas but she does so without ever really preaching, even when she specifically gives tips or answers frequently asked questions, she does so in an amusing, down-to-earth fashion.

Other stories in the volume deal with the various annoyances that comes up in life, like traveling as a transgendered woman post-9/11....

However, not all of the humor in Kamentsky's comics are derives solely from her gender, like this cute tale of her attending a Jewish singles event...

I think you have a pretty good idea of what these comics are like from those sample pages. I think that it is a well-drawn, well-told collection of amusing, true-to-life stories by Kamentsky, and I hope that you agree.
