Despite his comical appearance, M.O.D.O.K. has long established himself as a surprisingly lethal and brutal threat. He's gone up against almost every major group of heroes at least at some point -- but now, he'll need the help of one of Marvel's biggest heroes if he wants to figure out what's happening to him.

M.O.D.O.K.'s mind seems to be malfunctioning and forcing him to see visions of his possible family from the upcoming Hulu animated series centered on the character -- requiring the classic A.I.M. villain to turn to his old enemy Iron Man for help.

M.O.D.O.K. may have once been a regular human, but his work with A.I.M. eventually led to his transformation into his current murderous and destructive form. Still working with A.I.M. in its current form, M.O.D.O.K. has found himself unusually distracted as of late, however. Despite his mindset preventing him from regularly dreaming, M.O.D.O.K. has begun to see visions of a surprisingly simple and happy home-life. These visions include a house in suburbia, an understanding wife, and two children. The problem for M.O.D.O.K. is that these visions keep happening while he's supposed to be helping conduct hiests around that world that could benefit the plans of A.I.M. and their standing in the Marvel Universe.

Determining these visions to be a defect within M.O.D.O.K., Monica Rappaccini is able to inform the rest of the A.I.M. Board of Directors. She convinces them that M.O.D.O.K.'s current form creates too much of a risk of him getting out of control during another mission. A.I.M. votes to deactivate and dismantle M.O.D.O.K. rather than risk him remaining loose and volatile. Although M.O.D.O.K. puts up a great fight against the forces of A.I.M., he's unable to prevent himself from seeing more and more visions of his family -- forcing him to retreat after taking a beating from Rappaccini. With nowhere else to go, M.O.D.O.K. makes a bee-line straight for an unlikely genius -- Tony Stark, aka Iron Man.

Quickly breaking through Iron Man's defenses at Stark Tower, M.O.D.O.K. puts up his hands in defeat and admits to Tony that his "superior" computer brain might be broken. Considering how much trouble M.O.D.O.K. has given the Avengers over the years, it wouldn't be surprising for Tony to take the oppurtunity to destroy the villain. But helping him may actually be the best opportunity for Iron Man to deal a major blow to A.I.M., especially if it means uncovering the truth of M.O.D.O.K.'s family.

Notably, the family appears to be the same one that will be featured in the upcoming M.O.D.O.K. animated series on Hulu: the series is set to feature Aimee Garcia as his wife Jodie, Ben Schwartz as his son Lou, and Melissa Fumero as his daughter Melissa. This could potentially suggest that the animated series is actually canon within the core-Marvel Universe as a hallucination of  M.O.D.O.K. about what life could be like with a family. There's even the chance that they could exist in some shape and form somewhere in the multiverse, and could play a role in the future for the character even in the comics. But as for now, it'll be up to Iron Man to try and work with M.O.D.O.K. to figure out what's happening to him.
