With the Comic-Con International dust clearing, San Diego's real social media champs can now be crowned. Deadline has reported that Twitter has released analytics measuring the most buzzed about properties over the duration of the convention, and the winners demonstrate the changing face of fandom.

Over 2.9 million total tweets were typed over the duration of Comic-Con, with the Twitter victor being "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2." "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," the movie many fans would traditionally peg as the front runner, had to settle for second. On the TV side, "Once Upon a Time" edged out "Arrow" in the most-tweeted-about show category.

Deadline theorizes that timing could have played a role in "Mockingjay's" victory, as it had a 24-hour head start on "Batman v Superman." "Star Wars", which came in third, is the most surprising here; even with a prime panel time on Friday, the franchise was still eclipsed by two others. But while this comes as a surprise since "The Hunger Games" is a relatively new franchise and isn't a superhero movie, it shouldn't be a shocker considering just how big of a box office draw the Jennifer Lawrence-led franchise has become. The three "Hunger Games" films have earned well over $1.1 billion together and the fourth -- and final -- installment opens later this year.
