Kageyama Shigeo, or Mob as he’s more popularly known, is easily the most powerful psychic in the Mob Psycho 100 universe. With no discernible upper cap on the limits of his psychic abilities, the challenges Mob faces are often emotional dilemmas, rather than whether he’d be strong enough to defeat the next threat that inevitably seeks him out.

Mob is a kind-hearted philosopher at heart, and there’s one specific My Hero Academia Quirk that he just might be able to handle with more grace than its original wielder ever did.

Kageyama Shigeo’s Abilities in Mob Psycho

Kageyama from mob psycho 100

Rather than asking what Mob is capable of, it’d be far quicker to ask what he can’t achieve psychically. His powers as an esper far exceed any other he’s encountered so far, even though Mob imposes limiters on himself. His most basic ability is telekinesis, but his mastery over it allows him to achieve superhuman feats of strength and speed -- in addition to telekinesis that automatically adapts to be able to lift the mass of whatever Mob sets his mind to.

Mob’s telekinesis isn’t his only impressive ability in Mob Psycho 100, and indeed it could hardly be. Whenever he encounters another esper, he can instantly study how they manifest their psychic abilities and replicate them himself. This copying ability has netted Mob several more powers like flight, possession of other living things and objects, creation of impenetrable force fields, and absorption of psychic energy from other espers.

Mob’s pacifist nature has led him to pursue gentler methods of using his powers; one method he’s had great success in is regenerating the psychic energy of other espers he considers friends after they’ve expended their own. Mob can restore their psychic energy to the max, with no discernible decrease in his own. His psychic abilities are strongly linked to his emotional state, swelling infinitely whenever he feels strong emotion. When Mob reaches a stage known as 100%, he is veritably invulnerable.

What My Hero Academia Quirk Would Mob Have?

My Hero Academia — All For One

Given Mob’s all-encompassing psychic prowess, the only MHA Quirk that could live up to his infinite potential is the one used by the series, eternal villain, All For One. All For One’s Quirk is a more selfish take on Mob’s psychic ability. While Mob is able to replicate other psychics' abilities -- and enriches theirs in turn with an emphasis on cooperation -- All For One began as the singular power to steal the Quirks of others. Through slow, steady accumulation of others’ abilities, and the trampling of many innocents underfoot, All For One has become a near-unrivaled power in My Hero Academia.

A Quirk influences its wielder's personality, though perhaps the opposite may be true instead. In either case, All For One as the phenomenon he has become seems the inevitable end of a power of that nature. In Shigeo’s hands, that great power could be put to good use due to a key character distinction. All For One is selfish to a fault and can’t help but grasp everything within reach for himself, while the lesson Shigeo holds most dear to his heart in Mob Psycho 100 is the one Reigen Arataka taught him first -- that his psychic abilities were only to be used for the benefit of others.
