The following may have spoilers for Mob Psycho 100 Season 3, Episode 6, available now on Crunchyroll.

The latest Mob Psycho 100 episode might have come as a shock to many viewers due to an implied character death. The series is generally known for its humor and lighthearted atmosphere, but the recent episode takes the opposite turn. Mob and Dimple make up after Mob uses his own version of Naruto's "Talk no Jutsu" on the green spirit. However, trouble resurfaces when Psycho Helmet becomes sentient. This event forces Dimple to make a grave sacrifice.

In Mob Psycho 100 Season 3, Episode 6, Mob reaches 100% after Dimple gives his two cents on his monkey shirt. However, Mob doesn't attack. Instead, he releases his psychic energy to talk to Dimple properly. He apologizes to Dimple and empathizes with his behavior of getting "carried away". After Mob's speech, he effectively convinces Dimple to drop the "God" act. At that point, Dimple realized how deep his bond with Mob truly is. However, since Mob released all of his psychic energy earlier, this left him defenseless and tired, to the point where he cannot move. Dimple carries him, but as they're on their way out, they meet Psycho Helmet.

Dimple Realizes the Importance of His Friendship With Mob

Mob Psycho 100 Dimple God Form

Dimple realizes the Divine Tree's energy created a sentient Psycho Helmet. Psycho Helmet begins attacking Dimple and the unconscious Mob. Dimple and Psycho Helmet engage in an intense battle, leaving Dimple nearly incapacitated. In the middle of the fight, Mob wakes up but is still incredibly exhausted. Dimple uses his power to force Mob to get up and leave. After arriving home, Ritsu and Mob watch the news and see the Divine Tree floating away from the city. By the end of the episode, it seems like Mob vaguely remembers Dimple's sacrifice and cries for him.

The episode made it seem like it was the end for this beloved Mob Psycho character. Dimple learned the importance of his friendship with Mob. Additionally, Mob changed Dimple's goals for himself. But good things sometimes come to an end. Despite possessing god-like powers, it looked like the energy the Divine Tree gathered proved to be no match for Dimple. Dimple was aware of this, especially since it was his first time using such immense power. Before parting ways with Mob, Dimple's God form was already missing a few body parts. At this point, Dimple was worn out, and viewers were unsure as to how much power he had left in comparison to the sentient Psycho Helmet. The last sighting of Dimple was perhaps the many golden particles that rose up with the Divine Tree as it floated away.

Is This Truly the End For Dimple?

However, hope is not totally lost. There's still a possibility for the spirit to come back. If Dimple returns, this wouldn't be the first time he re-appears after being defeated. During the incident with (LOL) in Season 1, Mob won the fight against Dimple, and it looked like that was the end for him. However, he eventually appears in front of Mob as a smaller and weaker spirit. It wouldn't be surprising if this were to happen again, following the incident with the Divine Tree. Considering Dimple had god-like powers at that point, it's possible he reserved even the tiniest bit of energy to eventually re-appear again. After all, he was more powerful during the Divine Tree incident compared to the (LOL) conflict.

Either way, this incident will affect Mob. Dimple was one of his precious friends. It's no surprise he'll mourn him, but it's unlikely that he'll lose control over it. Mob is more grown up in Season 3, and much better at navigating his emotions. This might be a learning experience for him that he'll take to heart. Compared to the usual fun energy of Mob Psycho 100, Dimple's fate was more on the sad side. Therefore, a character death seems odd in an anime such as this. With that, it's highly probable that Dimple will sometime return to the series.
