Back in the 1960s, a Marvel letter column suggested Spock was based on Namor. 1 / 8

Namor, of course ,was a very famous comic book character. 2 / 8

And he and Spock obviously do look a whole lot alike. 3 / 8

However, no one has ever actually admitted that they based Namor on Spock visually. 4 / 8

Secondly, it doesn't really make sense that he would be based on Namor for one major reason. 5 / 8

Spock was originally a bald-headed RED SKINNED guy with pointy ears. 6 / 8

The original design looked nothing like Spock. Over time, they got rid of the extra stuff.. 7 / 8

and that got us to classic Spock, but the route taken makes it clear that Namor was not the inspiration. 8 / 8
