The end is near for Mister Miracle. The 12-issue maxiseries from writer Tom King and artist Mitch Gerads will close its curtain in October, with just two issues left before it bows. Ahead of this conclusion, King offered a tease of what's to come and promised a resolution to the series' two ongoing plot threads.

"There are two simultaneous plots going on in Mister Miracle. One is the simple surface plot, which is basically what's happening the whole time with, which is the idea that sort of there's a war between New Genesis and Apokolips and Scott is now leading that war as his father once did, and he has to sort of deal with that burden of being a human and being in this war and being a god," King explained to CBR at Comic-Con International in San Diego.

"That goes alongside this whole separate plot of 'Is he alive? Is he dead? Is this all in his head? Is this a Jacob's Ladder scenario?' -- just to steal from a podcast," he continued with a laugh. "And so both of those will be resolved at the end, and both of them will sort of connect with each other, the idea of 'Is this real life or is this just fantasy?' will be tied to the fact of what is this war that happens. It will all sort of come together."
