The following article contains spoilers from "Blood in & Blood Out" in Batman: Urban Legends #18, on sale now.

In his civilian identity as Bruce Wayne, Batman is known for being flashy and charismatic. Yet, very little has been said about what goes into crafting the persona of the billionaire playboy. During "Blood in & Blood Out" from Batman: Urban Legends #18 (by Henry Barajas, Serg Acuna, Dave McCaig, and Hassan Otsmoane-Elhaou), readers got to learn who designed Bruce Wayne's various suits, and the answer is quite shocking.

When questioned by the paparazzi about who he was wearing, referring to who designed his suit, Bruce responded "Scott Free. I think". As many fans will note, Scott Free is the civilian name of Mister Miracle, a New God, and the son of Highfather. To learn that a higher being such as Scott Free designs men's formal wear in his free time is surprising to say the least, yet at the same time, it opens some much-needed doors for Scott in his personal life.

Mister Miracle Designs Suits

As Mister Miracle, Scott can escape anything, it's his main power. However, he still needs a normal life away from the violence of his own. Very few stories have actually examined what Scott would do for a living outside of being a hero because realistically, putting on a colorful costume and punching aliens doesn't pay very much. A career designing suits may seem out of nowhere, but it might make perfect sense.

Scott has spent most of his life running from place to place, breaking what prison he was put into this time. It stands to reason that he would enjoy making something for once. The act of creation, even crafting itself, can even be therapeutic for one who has endured so much pain over the course of his life. In addition, having one of the most distinctive costumes in the entire DC Universe, Scott may have been contemplating what qualifies as fashion for some time. Perhaps he thought that if he could pull off his bright costume, then making a simple black and white tuxedo would be simple. Or maybe he just wanted to make a suit that didn't stick out so much.

Mister Miracle's Formal Wear

Then there is the question of how long he has been doing this. To design for someone as high-profile as Bruce Wayne is no small feat. It means that Scott has connections, and this he is talented enough to be worn confidently into a public gathering that is televised. Bruce's uncertain answer to who he was wearing might imply that this is a recent development in his life, but this could also just have been him acting the part. Scott could have been his sole designer for years.

Making formal wear doesn't have to be what he's limited to either. Scott has a history of bringing back New God technology with him. If he truly wanted to, he could open up a business making custom suits for the heroic community. Not just civilian outfits, but costumes as well. He could redesign suits in new and exciting ways and even implement New God tech for defensive purposes, all while charging a reasonable cost. It would certainly be an interesting way to flesh out his character more, as well as provide him some personal stability and community.
