While photos have reportedly surfaced of Tom Cruise and the cast and crew of Mission: Impossible 7 filming in the United Kingdom, Paramount Pictures has reaffirmed that production on the sequel remains on hold.Planned filming in Venice was suspended in February due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic sweeping through Italy. While there was speculation that filming would continue elsewhere in Europe, the studio has confirmed it's been delayed entirely until the health crisis has been resolved sufficiently.

In response to the leaked set videos of returning star and producer Tom Cruise seen riding a motorcycle, Paramount has clarified that this was merely the testing of stunt equipment for once filming officially commences.

Mission: Impossible 7 will reportedly be filmed back-to-back with the popular action franchise's eighth installment. The two films will be helmed by longtime director, writer and producer Christopher McQuarrie, who brings Ethan Hunt and the Impossible Mission Force back for new globe-spanning adventures.
