A second season of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid will arrive this summer.

Kyoto Animation's YouTube channel has released a new trailer for the second season of its hit series Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, titled Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S. The trailer teases even more dragon antics and confirms that the new season will premier on July 8. The second season of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid has been in the works for several years, following a delay due to the fatal arson attack on Kyoto Animation's Studio 1 in 2019.

The first season of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid debuted in 2017 to immediate acclaim and international popularity. It has since become one of studio Kyoto Animation's most popular series, joining its catalog of beloved anime like K-On!, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Violet Evergarden. The first season of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid's was available for streaming on both Funimation and Crunchyroll, and Crunchyroll will broadcast the second season to North, Central and South America, as well as to European, African and Middle Eastern audiences. Crunchyroll will also stream the anime to fans within the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) and to fans from countries within Oceania.

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid's story begins when exhausted office worker Kobayashi stumbles upon a dragon while drunkenly wandering through the mountains late at night. Kobayashi pulls a sword from the creature's back and offers the lonely dragon a place to stay at her apartment. The dragon, named Tohru, then transforms into a young girl and decides to become Kobayashi's house maid, often with disastrous results. Tohru is eventually joined by other eccentric dragon girls, who all change Kobayashi's mundane life forever.
