It can be difficult to find a way to measure intelligence in fictional characters. All of the teenagers in a series like Miraculous: The Tales Of Ladybug & Cat Noir, for example, demonstrate quick wit when it comes to comebacks in conversation, creative minds at their fashion school, and many of them have even learned multiple languages.

When it comes to figuring out just which Miraculous Ladybug characters are the most intelligent, all of those things need to be taken into account. Thinking outside the box is key for these characters and is a great way to see who ends up on top.

10 Lila Tells Great Stories

Lila as Volpina in Miraculous Ladybug

Miraculous Ladybug's Lila certainly has a creative mind. It's not clear whether she's the best student — much of what comes out of her mouth are lies — but she has creativity to burn, as is evident in the stories she spins.

What Lila lacks is common sense. While she can tell terrific stories, and Lila can come up with great plans as a villain, she doesn't see the flaws in either. Lila is often caught in her lies by others who have a more logical mindset than she does — and she ends up outsmarted by the Miraculous Ladybug heroes more than once.

9 Chloe Covers Her Bases

Chloe and Marinette team up in Miraculous Ladybug

Miraculous Ladybug's Chloe isn't quite as creative as Lila as she sometimes steals her more creative designs from other students, but Chloe does cover her bases a little better. When Chloe lies, she has cover stories for her lies. Sometimes, her downfall can be that she misses steps in her plans.

Chloe is also very good at getting people to do things for her even though they get frustrated with her. Her family members, her friend Sabrina, and even her classmates will allow Chloe to have her way instead of fighting her more often than not.

8 Sabrina Completes A Heavy Workload

The Miraculous Ladybug audience doesn't know much about Sabrina's academic prowess — and they don't actually see her work on many garment designs on her own. However, they do know that she has to be a pretty great student.

That's because Sabrina is always doing double the work. Not only does she complete her own assignments, but she also completes Chloe's on a regular basis. At one point, when Sabrina and Chloe are teamed with Marinette on a project, Sabrina does the entire project herself. She's clearly got some great time management skills in addition to great knowledge of their school subjects.

7 Kagami Can Do It All

Kagami talks to a kwami in Miraculous Ladybug

Though the Miraculous Ladybug audience doesn't spend time with Kagami in school, like Sabrina, they know she's a good student. She might not be doing other people's assignments, but she does have private tutors.

Kagami is enrolled in several musical and athletic activities by her mother, all of which are meant to enrich Kagami's mind. She's also studying multiple languages and is able to keep up with Ladybug's complicated plans when she's called on to help the superhero.

6 Mylene Understands Environmental Issues

Mylene gives a small smile in Miraculous Ladybug

Miraculous Ladybug's Mylene might not be a particularly vocal student in the classroom, but she is a good student. In addition to her regular academic schedule, Mylene is also involved in a lot of the more creative pursuits of her classmates.

Mylene participates in making movies, music videos, and is in her friends' band. Mylene also makes the time to research and understand complicated environmental issues in Paris, even educating her classmates and her boyfriend Ivan on them.

5 Luka Has High Emotional Intelligence

Luka plays his guitar while Marinette listens in Miraculous Ladybug

Because Luka is in a different class than most of the main characters, the Miraculous Ladybug audience doesn't get a sense of how he fares academically. What they do find, however, is that Luka has a high level of emotional intelligence.

Luka is much more perceptive than most people give him credit for — he understands when his sister and his friends are keeping things from him right away. He also works hard to make the people around him comfortable when he picks up on their discomfort — something others fail to do. Luka also is one of the few people, in different timelines, to help come up with solutions to problems for Ladybug himself.

4 Max Is Incredibly Analytical

On paper, Max is probably the smartest person in Miraculous Ladybug. He's got an incredibly analytical mind that allows him to build his own robot and analyze computer programming effectively. When it comes to creativity, though, Max falls short compared to other characters.

Max spends months, for example, preparing for a video game tournament, understanding the probabilities of certain outcomes and learning all about the most common moves. He loses the tournament to Marinette, however, who thinks outside of the box during the game's events.

3 Adrien Manages Academics & Heroics

Until Adrien is enrolled in school with Marinette and her friends, he spends most of his time in private lessons, much like Kagami. As a result, he's definitely near the top of his class academically. He takes different language, music, and athletic lessons just like she does.

Adrien, however, is also Cat Noir. In addition to his schoolwork and his extracurricular commitments, he also has to come up with a way to seem like he's in two places at once so he can save the day. He also has to be able to anticipate Ladybug's moves in an altercation and back her up — all of which he excels at as Cat Noir. When the power set changes, however, he's no longer Ladybug's best partner.

2 Alya Can Do Anything

Alya might not have private lessons like Adrien, but she's got some other skills to rival his. She's tech savvy and a budding investigative journalist. Alya keeps a blog about Ladybug and all of the super-heroic things going on in Paris. She manages to keep up with that and her schoolwork, and eventually, she also manages to keep up with her own part in the world of being a superhero.

In fact, Alya is the only other person in Miraculous Ladybug to successfully use Ladybug's powers as her own. When Marinette trusts Alya with Tikki, Alya manages to lead the superhero effort in Paris, taking over and keeping Cat Noir as backup. Even when Cat Noir and Ladybug switched powers, he wasn't able to switch to Ladybug's mindset to successfully use her powers.

1 Marinette Has The Most Creative Mind

Marinette is easily the smartest character of the teens in Miraculous Ladybug. Not only does she keep up with her studies and with being a superhero, but she does it with incredibly complicated plans. Marinette always figures out exactly what she needs to do to take down the villain of the week, no matter how strange the tools are that are at her disposal.

Marinette also is the only person to successfully use multiple Miraculouses other than Alya. Marinette has a great knack for figuring out just which Miraculous suits which person as well, matching powers to her peers with a mostly positive track record.
