at a retailers-only event held during comic-con international in san diego, marvel comics announced work has resumed on neil gaiman and mark buckingham's miracleman revival. the reboot, which was originally set to release in 2017, is reportedly set to hit shelves in 2019.

though the miracleman revival was set to get off the ground a year ago, legal hurdles had postponed the project indefinitely. marvel has informed direct market retailers that those legal troubles have now been solved, clearing the way for new miracleman comics.

"i'm thrilled that all the barriers that were keeping mark and me from working on miracleman have been cleared. we're thrilled to be back in the world of michael moran and dicky dauntless, of marvels and of miracles," gaiman wrote in a statement."

buckingham added, "i'm so incredibly excited to be back to work with neil! finger son keyboards are going tippity tap! penciles are sharpened and going scritchity scratch! miracleman is coming back!"

upon acquiring the rights to the property a number of years ago, marvel published reprints of the original marvelman/miracleman from 2014 to 2016.
