The developing Minority Report television series has just found a home: Deadline reports Fox has made a put-pilot commitment for the project, from Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television and Godzilla writer Max Borenstein.

It's an interesting development, given Fox's turbulent history with science fiction shows. While some series, like The X-Files and, to a lesser extent, Fringe, found success on the network, others have not -- among them, Firefly and the recently canceled Almost Human. The put-pilot commitment all but guarantees the Minority Report pilot will air, but beyond that, it would take someone with precognitive abilities to see what the future has in store.

Speaking of precognitive abilities, details on the Minority Report pilot's plot have started to emerge. Deadline says the show takes placee "10 years after the end of Precrime in D.C. One of the three Precogs struggles to lead a 'normal' human life, but remains haunted by visions the future, when he meets a detective haunted by her past who just may help him find a purpose to his gift."
