Friday Night Lights star Minka Kelly has joined the cast of ABC's Charlie's Angels remake, TVLine reports. However, the website's claim that Transformers actress Rachael Taylor also has signed on is being disputed.

"She hasn't been offered the role," Taylor's spokeswoman tells TV Guide.

Kelly, 30, will play weapons expert Marisa, a former Marine trained in all forms of hand-to-hand combat. She'll star alongside General Hospital actress Annie Ilonzeh, who was cast last week as Kate, a smart but serious ex-cop and martial arts master.

The 26-year-old Taylor would complete the trio as Abby, the privileged daughter of a notorious Wall Street crook, and an expert con artist and Krav Maga practitioner.

The remake of popular 1970s series is being produced by Smallville collaborators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who also wrote the pilot. It's executive-produced Drew Barrymore and Nancy Juvonen, producers of the 2000 movie Charlie’s Angels and the 2003 sequel Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, and Leonard Goldberg, one of the producers of the original series.
