Mark Millar's comic book creations are coming together this year in the crossover series Big Game, which will unite a diverse slate of Millarworld books from Kick-Ass to Nemesis.

“Our books over the next few months lead into a crossover, which ties together all the Millarworld franchises,” Millar told SFX Magazine. “There are actually 24 franchises altogether if you count series like Kick-Ass, Kingsman and Hit Girl, so we’re putting them in one mega-story, which brings all of them together.”

Millar, whose Millarworld imprint was purchased by Netflix in 2017, previously announced in August 2022 that the crossover would feature "many if not all of the Millarworld franchises" and would launch in the spring of 2023. Joining Millar on the series is Pepe Larraz, who is widely known for illustrating Marvel's various X-Men books.

"Since I started thinking about drawing American comic books, I always have wanted to work with Mark Millar," Larraz said during Big Game's announcement. "Who wouldn't? But what I could never have expected is to work on something that interlocks and pulls together so many series Mark has written. This is a huge privilege for me and I can't wait for you all to see it.”

Millarworld's Diverse Experiments

Little else is known about the plot of Big Game at the moment or how the series will tie together Millarworld's far-reaching lineup, which features everything from the James Bond-esque action of King of Spies to Night Club, a series about teenage vampires.

Aside from uniting his many franchises into one mega-story, Millar has also been making waves in the comic book industry with Night Club for selling each issue at a price point not seen in decades -- $1.99. "I remember seeing prices going up all the time and wondering where the hell this was going to end," Millar said in an interview with CBR. "You drop a ten in the comic store now, and you walk out with two books. I want people to be able to walk out with five. But this is an experiment for the entire six-issue series. Profit margins would already be small when a book is half-price, but paper costs are four times what they were, even last year, so it's going to be even harder. But fortune favors the bold, and I love a crazy risk."
