Comic book writer Mark Millar's no stranger to film adaptations. With "Wanted," "Kick-Ass" and "Kingsman" all now sitting on both Blu-ray and comic book shelves, the writer's gotten used to seeing his written word brought to life on the big screen. With his most recent Image Comics series "Huck" already being adapted into a feature film by Studio 8, Millar's started to campaign for certain actors to star in the upcoming movie.
While speaking with The Sun, Millar turned his attention to "Huck's" female lead, Zoe, and his first choice for who should play her. "I think Rihanna will be perfect for this," said Millar. "She would be ideal as the female lead as the beautiful girl in town who Huck has a major crush on."
"Huck," which comes from Millar and artist Rafael Albuquerque, follows a small town superhero whose secret identity is outed to the media. His goal is to do a good deed every day, a plan that's put to the test by a newcomer that doesn't play by the rules.
Millar would like to see her star alongside Channing Tatum, with Tatum being his ideal casting for Huck. "Rihanna's incredibly charismatic and has a warm face, which is what the role needs. I also think she's a really good actor," said Millar. "She and Channing Tatum are my top choices... I'm very excited about 'Huck.' With Rihanna and Channing in the roles it would be huge."
Rihanna made her acting debut in 2012's "Battleship" and followed that up with roles in "This Is The End" and "Annie." Director Luc Bessen revealed last month that she had joined the cast of his film "Valerian" in a "big part."
"Huck" #1 from Image Comics arrives in stores this Wednesday.
