Milla Jovovich has revealed the first real look at her character Artemis from the upcoming adaptation of Monster Hunter.

The adaptation of the popular video game received negative attention online earlier this week when a picture of Diego Boneta from the film was posted online, looking decidedly not like he hailed from a mystical world of monsters. To ease the worries of the fanbase, star Milla Jovoich posted to Instagram another look at the film.

Along with the picture of Jovovich in armor, the actress posted “Captain Natalie Artemis. Ranger. Monster Hunter. Just a little peek for all the @monsterhunterworld fans out there who were worried the other day. Here is Captain Artemis wearing a 'slinger' on her arm.”

Monster Hunter is an adaptation of the Capcom video game series of the same name. The film will tweak the premise by introducing some modern elements to the story. The plot will center around a universal rift by which a UN-backed military team finds themselves trapped in a world of monsters and warriors. Working with the more experienced local monster hunters, the two groups have to find a way to protect the rift before monsters break loose into our reality.

Monster Hunter, directed by Paul W. S. Anderson and starring Milla Jovovich, Tony Jaa, TI, Diego Boneta and Ron Perlman, is currently filming. No release date has been scheduled for the film.
