With the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 3 moved from 2016 to 2018, director Marc Webb is returning to indie fare, and he's bringing one of the stars of Fantastic Four with him.

Variety reports Miles Teller has joined The Only Living Boy in New York, a drama Webb had put on hold while he focused on the Sony Pictures superhero franchise. Now, however, it's expected to be the filmmaker's next project.

Webb, who made a splash in 2009 with his feature debut (500) Days of Summer, will work from Allan Loeb's script about a young man who tries to put an end to his overbearing father's affair, only to become involved with the woman himself.

Teller has been bouncing back and forth between bigger-budget films like Divergent and The Fantastic Four and smaller-scale projects like The Spectacular Now and Whiplash.
