Miles Morales became a household name after starring in the award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Of course, comic fans were very familiar with the young Spider-Man after he replaced the deceased Peter Parker in the Ultimate Universe. Miles would later find his way into the Marvel Prime Universe, where he fights alongside Peter as New York's additional Spider-Man.

As Into the Spider-Verse revealed, the multiverse contains many different Spider heroes, including an older Peter B. Parker, Ghost-Spider, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Ham, Peni Parker and her mecha suit. Marvel assembled almost every Spider character for the 2014 event series Spider-Verse and its sequel, Spider-Geddon. Peter Parker ran point for Spider-Verse, with Miles taking the reins in Spider-Geddon. Now, Marvel is going back to the familiar formula once again for a new Spider-Verse miniseries featuring Miles Morales.

Marvel's preview of Spider-Verse #1 catches up with Miles as he's subduing a pool-themed villain named 8-Ball. Miles easily defeats the D-list villain, but before he can swing off to his next stop, his spider-sense goes wild. It's here that a mysterious voice starts speaking to Miles in his head, with the voice introducing themselves as Spider-Zero.

The new Spider hero yanks Miles into the Multiverse, where we get a look at many of the heroes of different realities. There must be a new threat that has caused Spider-Zero to come for Miles Morales, with a Spider army probably not far behind. But who is this Spider-Zero?

Madame Web used to control the many strands of the Web of Life and Destiny, with the responsibility later falling to the Inheritor Karn, who broke away from his villainous family. Spider-Geddon saw the destruction of the Web of Life and Destiny, though Anna-May Parker predicted it would soon return. It has obviously returned in the Spider-Verse #1 preview, but it remains unknown how it was rebuilt.

It would be interesting if Spider-Zero turned out to be an existing Marvel Spider hero with a new moniker. If Spider-Zero is a completely new character, we must question if they're motives are pure, or if something underhanded is at play. We should get our first official look at Spider-Zero when Spider-Verse #1 goes on sale Oct. 2
