Sony has released a new TV commercial for Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, titled "Be Yourself," that showcases the game's visceral action, heart and graphical fidelity on both the PlayStation 4 and upcoming PlayStation 5, which will release next week.

The trailer opens with Miles Morales getting flung through the streets of New York in a battle with the criminal gang known as the Underground, armed with energy weapons and gauntlets. Undeterred, he tells himself "Remember Miles, you're Spider-Man" before playing the song "I'm Ready" by Jaden in his earbud. Miles then defeats the Underground members with ease using his webs, spider-strength and bio-electric punches before confronting more henchmen and their leader, the Tinkerer.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales released its first promo in June, with the game serving as a continuation to 2018's Marvel's Spider-Man where Miles was introduced as a supporting character. Taking place a year after the game and its DLC storyline, Miles is now a fully-fledged superhero living in Harlem with his mother Rio, who is currently running for City Council. However, both Harlem and the rest of Manhattan soon become the battleground of a new turf war between the corrupt energy conglomerate Roxxon and the Underground, with Miles getting caught between both parties.

A gameplay trailer released in September expanded upon this conflict, with Miles fighting multiple Underground members and their masked leader -- redesigned from the comics as a woman -- atop the Brooklyn Bridge before trying to save multiple New Yorkers as the bridge collapses.

Gameplay for Miles Morales appears to follow the open world web-swinging formula from the first game, though Miles Morales functions slightly differently to Peter Parker's Spider-Man. Other new additions to the franchise so far include the ability to fight criminals alongside a cat in a spider mask (also named Spider-Man) and receiving Miles' Into the Spider-Verse costume as Day 1 bonus, complete with movie sound effects and slow movement frame rates.

Developed by Insomniac Games and PlayStation Studios, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be available on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on Nov. 12.
