In the crossover event's opening Carnage Reigns: Alpha one-shot, Miles hit Cletus -- who is currently separated from the Carnage symbiote and instead bonded with the Extrembiote, which is made out of a cosmic symbiote dragon and Iron Man's Extremis Virus -- with a Venom Blast powerful enough to cause a massive explosion that nearly took out an entire city block. While Cletus appeared to be injured at the time, the dangerous villain explains to Kenneth that the explosion actually caused his Extrembiote to become supercharged; at least, up until it essentially overheated.

"When that Morales kid zapped me, he did something to the Iron Man tech inside me," Cletus explains. "He must have fried it somehow. I can...feel it cooking me from the inside out. Like I've got a damn microwave in my chest. Still, when the kid woke the armor up, it was...interesting. For a split second, I was connected. I was in the wires. I used to think the Hive was the best way to remake the world in my image. I was wrong."
