Insomniac Games tweeted an image from its upcoming PlayStation 5 game Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.Captured from the PlayStation 5, the image shows Morales in full costume taking a selfie in front of a billboard of the Puerto Rican flag, with a caption wishing fans a happy Hispanic Heritage Month. The flag is in reference to Morales's Puerto Rican heritage on his mother's side, an important aspect of his character. His role as an Afro-Latino superhero has been considered necessary and groundbreaking in terms of minority representation in comics, and the character's film debut, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse, was well-received by critics and fans alike, largely for its ability to apply the ideals behind Spider-Man in a way that respects Morales's cultural background.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales follows the web-slinger as he takes learning to take on the responsibility of being Spider-Man while his mother, Rio Morales, runs for city council. The game is set one year after the studio's previous game, Marvel's Spider-Man. It will feature the supervillain The Tinkerer as its primary antagonist, and a recent gameplay demo showed that a conflict between a group of criminals called the Underground and an energy company, Roxxon, will be at the center of the game's plot.

Developed by Insomniac Games and PlayStation Studios, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be available on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on Nov. 12th.
