With the Defenders and the Punisher slated to finish out Netflix's 2017 superhero schedule, it's time to start looking forward to what 2018 will bring. Luckily, it seems like the sophomore season of Luke Cage might come sooner rather than later. At Houston's Comicpalooza comic convention, Mike Colter, who plays the show's title character, teased that he'll start shooting soon and gave a time frame for the show's release.

"I'm about to start next month," Colter said in a report from MCU Exchange. "When the Defenders comes out on August 18, that'll be something we can hold onto for a little while and we can enjoy that. And hopefully, we'll get to see Luke Cage out early next year."

While Colter hasn't started filming yet, production on Luke Cage season 2 has already begun. Information on the show's second season is still limited, but Theo Rossi, who played Shades in the first season, is confirmed as returning. There's also some early speculation based on casting calls that indicate Bushmaster could appear on the show. Like Luke Cage, Bushmaster got his abilities from Dr. Burstein's experiments.

Luke Cage season 2 still doesn't have an official release date, but MCU Exchange thinks that the premiere could be around March or May of 2018.
