Official Press Release
SEPTEMBER 13, 2004 - BETHESDA, MD: As a guest of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, comics artist Mike Mignola joins an impressive list of cartoonists including Jeff Smith, Eric Powell, James Kochalka, Ted Rall, Peter Kuper and hundreds more at the 2004 Small Press Expo.
Since entering the comics field in the early 1980s, award-winning comics storyteller Mike Mignola has worked on such diverse projects as DC's Cosmic Odyssey, Marvel's Incredible Hulk, and the comics adaptation of Francis Ford Coppola's film Dracula. However, the artist is best known for his creator-owned character Hellboy, published by Dark Horse Comics. Outside of comics, Mignola's film work includes Disney' "Atlantis: The Lost Empire", Blade 2 and the film version of Hellboy released earlier this year.
"Mike Mignola's a tremendously talented creator and we couldn't be more thrilled to have him," said SPX Executive Director Steve Conley. "This makes an already impressive show THAT much better."
