Michelle Trachtenberg, who starred on Buffy the Vampire Slayer as Buffy's little sister Dawn, has responded to a post from her co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar to thank her for speaking up regarding Joss Whedon's behavior on the set of the show.

Whedon has recently faced many accusations of misconduct and abuse during film and television productions, beginning with claims from Justice League star Ray Fisher which led to an investigation from WarnerMedia. This was followed by Charisma Carpenter's public statement which alleged that Whedon's inappropriate behavior had begun much earlier in his career, citing her experience working under him on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Carpenter has since been backed up by fellow Buffy alums Amber Benson and Gellar, the latter of which prompted Trachtenberg to make her own remarks.

Carpenter's statement came in a lengthy description of the trauma that she faced as a star of Whedon's shows, detailing her memories of several incidents that she had not shared before. She also revealed that she had participated in WarnerMedia's investigation on Whedon.

Although comments from the other stars that came forward since then have been briefer, all have shown their support for Carpenter and have not put forth any contradicting accounts of their experiences. Benson's Twitter post said, "There was a lot of damage done during that time and many of us are still processing it twenty plus years later."

Gellar's Instagram post stated that she was proud of playing the title role in Buffy, but that she no longer wanted to be associated with Whedon. Trachtenberg reblogged it and added a comment saying, "Thank you [Gellar] for saying this. I am brave enough now as a 35 year old woman.... To repost this. Because. This must. Be known. As a teenager. With his not appropriate behavior......"

Tractenberg first appeared on the show in its fifth season and stayed on as a regular character through its series finale. Unlike most cast members, she was roughly the same age as the character she played, fifteen years old.

In a second comment, Trachtenberg said to Gellar, "You. Are my rock!! What he did was very bad. But we win. By surviving!" She also added Gellar's post to an Instagram story and captioned it with text reading, "We know what he did. Behind. The. Scenes."
