Michelle Rodriguez has been the main, and often the lone, female character in the “Fast & Furious” franchise, appearing in all but two of the films.

The eighth installment hits theaters next spring, and this time features a female villain in the form of Charlize Theron’s Cipher. And if the franchise, which also features Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, wants to keep her on board they need to keep adding more female characters.

"In order for me to be a part of the franchise in the future, they need to up the ante on the females," Rodriguez told CBS8. "I mean, it's like a sausage factory in this thing."

Though not much is known about Theron’s baddie, Rodriguez already claimed her as the best adversary in “Fast & Furious” lore. "We're gonna go hard on this one. Charlize Theron is, I think, the most powerful villain this franchise has ever seen." And with Theron’s performance as the intimidating Imperator Furiosa in “Mad Max: Fury Road,” that’s not a hard sell for Rodriguez to make.

But Theron’s role is likely one-and-done – being the villain and all – so Rodriguez is hopeful for more “feminine energy” on her side for future installments. "We need some more women on the good side."
