"Hawaii Five-0" star Michelle Hurd has joined Starz's "Ash Vs Evil Dead" as a series regular. According to Deadline, she will play the high school sweetheart of Bruce Campbell's Ash Williams.
She joins a cast that includes Lucy Lawless, Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo, Lee Majors and Ted Raimi. Majors and Raimi will also play figures from Ash's past: his father and childhood best friend, respectively.
In addition to "Hawaii Five-0," Hurd is known for her roles in "Law & Order: SVU," "Leap Year," "The Glades" and "Devious Maids."
A continuation of director Sam Raimi’s cult film franchise, “Ash Vs. Evil Dead” picks up with Ash (Campbell) having spent the past three decades avoiding maturity, and the terrors of the Evil Dead. But when a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, he’s forced to face his demons — both metaphorical and literal.
