Michael Keaton in Talks to Star As McDonald's Founder in Biopic

Fresh off of his Oscar nomination for his work in Birdman, The Hollywood Reporter has learned Michael Keaton is in talks to star in a biopic about McDonald's founder Ray Kroc.

Titled The Founder, John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side) is attached to direct a screenplay by Big Fan writer Robert Siegel. The film's tone is said to be in the same vein as There Will Be Blood and The Social Network

The Founder is based on the true events following Ray Kroc's meeting with Mac and Dick McDonald, two brothers who were at the time operating a burger restaurant in Southern California. Following their initial encounter in the 1950s, Kroc -- a salesman from Illinois -- was able to negotiate his way into such a high position of power that he stole the restaurant from the brothers and turned it into the McDonald's we all know today.
