Birdman star Michael Keaton might face off against a much larger challenge in his next potential project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor is in talks to join Skull Island, the King Kong origin tale from Universal Legendary and Legendary Pictures.

As is the case with star Tom Hiddleston and J.K. Simmons, no details are known regarding the role Keaton would play. The film follows an expedition to Skull Island, the mysterious home of King Kong.

Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) is directing the 3D film from a script by John Gatins (Flight) and Max Borenstein (Godzilla).

Skull Island is expected to open March 10, 2017.
