A new image shows a look at Michael Keaton's Bruce Wayne/Batman costume in the DC Extended Universe's upcoming The Flash film.The image, which was posted on Twitter by @EpicFilmGuys, shows a look at Batman's costume in The Flash. The new costume resembles the one Keaton has already worn on the big-screen, but there are some distinct changes to the various parts and components of the costume.

Keaton first played Batman in Tim Burton's 1989 film. He later reprised his role for 1992's Batman Returns. While Keaton stepped away from the role following that movie, Keaton was officially confirmed as returning for The Flash in April 2021. Keaton's Batman will also play a role in the upcoming Batgirl movie. In terms of continuity, the two Joel Schumacher-helmed Dark Knight films, 1995's Batman Forever and 1997's Batman & Robin, will not be considered canon.

The upcoming The Flash film, which draws heavily from the Flashpoint storyline, sees Barry Allen/Flash traveling back in time to stop his mother's murder. However, this causes changes to the timeline. Producers have indicated over the years that The Flash resets the DCEU, though just how isn't totally clear at this time.

Ben Affleck, who played Batman in the DCEU, is also returning for The Flash, and he's said his performance as the Dark Knight in that film is among his favorite work in the cinematic universe. A purported screening leak also claims Flash will feature a 10-20 minute team-up with Affleck's Batman. The Flash has had a long and troubled road to production. Warner Bros. originally announced The Flash for 2018. However, the project was delayed numerous times. It's also not clear at this time just what will happen to Ezra Miller's incarnation of The Flash after the release of the film, as the actor was recently charged with disorderly conduct and harassment stemming from an incident at a bar in Hawaii. Still, Warner Bros. has refuted reports the studio held a meeting to talk about Miller's future in the DCEU.
