Michael B Jordan Steps Back in the Ring in New Creed II Images

Adonis Creed is getting back in the ring in what is shaping up to be the most personal fight of his entire life.

New images from Creed II show Michael B. Jordan's boxer training with Rocky Balboa to take on Viktor Drago, the son of Ivan Drago who killed the younger Creed's father Apollo in the ring in 1985's Rocky IV. The images will be included in the print edition of September's issue of Empire magazine.

According to Jordan, the addition of Drago into the sequel to acclaimed 2015 Rocky spinoff will up the stakes as the grudge match carries name recognition for longtime fans of the franchise.

"That character was so huge in Rocky IV," explained Jordan in an interview with Empire. "We didn’t have a real villain or an antagonist first time around. It was more or less an origin story. This time, we’ve found the perfect vehicle to build on that."
