Michael Fassbender Confirmed For Ridley Scott's The Counselor

Earlier this month, when news broke that Ridley Scott would direct Cormac McCarthy's original screenplay The Counselor, the first name mentioned to play the lead character was Michael Fassbender. The actor stars in Scott's Prometheus and, according to Deadline, will also headline The Counselor.

The only thing we know about the movie is that it's being described as "No Country For Old Men on steroids," and more specifically that it follows a lawyer who thinks he can get into the drug trade without it taking over his whole life.

Shooting is set to begin on May 1, but no other casting has been announced yet. Deadline has heard rumors that everyone from Jeremy Renner to Bradley Cooper to Brad Pitt have been mentioned.
