Michael Chabon Confirmed To Write Disney's Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom, known in some circles as "the project Jon Favreau left Iron Man 3 for," is slowly coming together. Pulitzer Prize-winning author Michael Chabon has been officially handed writing duties for the upcoming film, The Hollywood Reporter reveals.

A script for Disney adventure was previously penned by Battlestar Galactica reboot co-creator Ron Moore, but Favreau signing on led to the project being taken in a different direction.

Details on the story are being kept under wraps, though THR notes that the story is set in the titular theme park and may in fact link up with other Disney locations around the world. Chabon is a Disney fan and frequent collaborator. THR notes that he's got credits on the studio's upcoming Snow White project The Order of the Seven as well as another upcoming Disney picture, John Carter. Chabon is also working on a book for a Dumbo-spawned Broadway musical.
