“Pacific Rim” actor Max Martini is in talks to join John Krasinski, James Badge Dale and Pablo Schreiber in the Michael Bay Benghazi thriller “13 Hours,” Variety reports.
Based on Mitchell Zuckoff’s book “13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened In Benghazi,” the film purports to tell the true story of the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. Special Mission Compound and a nearby CIA Annex in Benghazi, Libya. The screenplay was written by “The Strain” co-creator Chuck Hogan.
Martini, whose credits include “Saving Private Ryan,” “Captain Phillips” and “Fifty Shades of Grey,” will play one of the members of the six-man security team that fought to defend the Americans stationed at the compound.Production is targeted to begin in the spring.
