Michael Bay Testing Young Actors For Lead Roles in Transformers 4

Less than a week after Mark Wahlberg was confirmed to star, Heat Vision reports that director Michael Bay is ready to test actors to play the young male and female leads in Transformers 4. According to the website’s sources, Bay’s fourth and final installment of the franchise will center on Wahlberg’s character, his daughter and race car-driving boyfriend.

Actresses being considered include Isabelle Cornish (Home and Away, Puberty Blues), Nicola Peltz (The Last Airbender), Margaret Qualley (daughter of Andie MacDowell) and Gabriella Wilde (Carrie). The five young actors said to be testing are Luke Grimes (Brothers & Sisters), Landon Liboiron (Terra Nova), Brenton Thwaites (Blue Lagoon: The Awakening), relative newcomer Jack Reynor and Hunter Parrish (Weeds). Whomever Paramount Pictures settles on will be signed to a three-movie deal.

Bay revealed earlier this week that Transformers 4 will pick up four years after the attack on Chicago depicted in 2011’s Dark of the Moon. “So it’s going still to have the same lineage but going in a full, new, different direction and it actually feels really natural how it is going in that direction,” he said.

Transformers 4 is due in theaters on June 27, 2014.
