Black Panther'Michael B. Jordan knows a thing or two about superheroes. While promoting his new movie, Jordan talked about what it would mean to have a black Superman, but played coy about whether or not it will be him.

Jordan spoke to Black Film about the upcoming movie, Just Mercy, which he both stars in and produced. The movie is the true story of promising young attorney Bryan Stevenson who goes to Alabama to fight cases in which he believes the convicted have been wrongly accused. The film also stars Jamie Foxx and Brie Larson.

Jordan talked about how much the new film means to him, especially since it's a product of his own production company, Outlier Society Productions. However, the talk inevitably turned to superheroes, and the interviewer came right out with the question that fans have been pondering for some time now: "is the word ready for a Black Superman?"

Jordan's answer was diplomatic, acknowledging that change is hard, especially for loyal fandoms, and seeing a black Superman could ruffle a lot of feathers. But ultimately, he thinks it's a possibility, but didn't confirm or deny any rumors about his involvement. "Clark Kent, he’s from this is and from that, and all the history. I get it. I totally understand," said Jordan. "Just know that if I ever step into any situation like that, it would be with great care and caution. I think the world is ready for a lot of changes. I’m not saying that that’s me. I’m not saying this is one of those changes I’m doing. I’m not saying that at all."

He also nods to all the roles he's been rumored to be playing in the past. "I’ve been rumored to play Morpheus, Superman, Cyborg, The Green Lantern, Power Rangers, DuckTales, the Mickey Mouse reboot and whatever else is going on out there so I can’t be everything."

Jordan was much more definitive about reprising his role as Creed, however, saying, "I don’t want to over saturate it. You can’t do the same role every year and a half. People can get tired of this." While Jordan was speaking about the popular boxing movies, this could be a bit of subtext about another Superman movie.
