My Hero Academia's Pro Heroes are all paid professionals who get the benefit of steady paychecks, widespread popular approval and media coverage, and official rankings to keep track of who's the best in the industry. Japan's top 10 Pro Heroes represent society's very best hope against villainy, and the #1 is the true symbol of peace.

All Might was #1 for a while, though the rankings were reshuffled after his retirement. Notably, Endeavor achieved his dream of becoming #1 under unusual circumstances while the young but highly talented Hawks became #2. Most of the public's attention goes toward those two heroes, but there must be a #3 as the bronze medalist of the best heroes. It's none other than Best Jeanist, and he's earned it 100%.

Best Jeanist's Grounded Personality Is Perfect For Pro Heroes

Best Jeanist in My Hero Academia.

Some Pro Heroes reached the top 10 with their explosive raw talent and aggressive determination to become the best, such as Endeavor clawing his way up to #2 en route to assuming All Might's mantle. Then there's Hawks who, despite his youth, soared his way to #2 after All Might's retirement, bypassing many heroes with years of seniority over him. Best Jeanist, meanwhile, is a more balanced, patient and grounded personality who will stubbornly fight for justice, but he's in no hurry to become #1. He may be somewhat flashy with his denim theme and his efforts to always present himself well, but otherwise, Best Jeanist became MHA's #3 simply because he's a quintessential hero with no serious personal baggage or distractions.

No doubt Best Jeanist methodically worked his way up the ranks with his powerful Quirk, mature and responsible attitude and unwavering faith in himself. His is a conventional but still impressive story of a fashionable man who avoids drama and personal extremes so he can become a reliable bedrock of heroic society, and he projects that stability and charisma onto others. Best Jeanist doesn't like brutish or aggressive people like Katsuki Bakugo, instead inspiring others with his calm, mature personality no matter how serious the situation may be.

Put another way, Best Jeanist doesn't have a do-or-die personality, nor is he risking it all on a single gimmick or strategy. He's a baseline hero who simply never does anything wrongly, and that's a key part of how he rose in the ranks. The same may be true of the noble hero Ryukyu, who ranks at #10. She likely ranks lower than Best Jeanist simply because her Quirk isn't quite as strong.

How Best Jeanist Fights With Fibrous Powers in My Hero Academia

Another key to Best Jeanist's rise to #3 in My Hero Academia is his powerful and flexible Quirk, called Fiber Master. This comes with many benefits and very few downsides or weaknesses, and Best Jeanist can use it in creative and unexpected ways on both offense and defense. Such a useful Quirk has practically no limit, and over time he patiently trained and practiced with it to unlock its true potential as the new #3 Pro Hero. Even before All Might's retirement, this impressive Quirk had already earned Best Jeanist the #4 slot.

Fiber Master allows Best Jeanist to manipulate fibers and threads either on his person or from a distance; it works best on denim fibers in particular, hence his hero costume. Fiber Master even works on other people's clothing or costumes, meaning he can tangle up and trap anyone with their own clothes, an attack few villains ever expect. Such threads are ideal for binding and capturing villains bloodlessly, though Best Jeanist can also create nets or webs with them, like Spider-Man, to safely catch an ally or restrain multiple villains.

In extreme cases, Best Jeanist can even use carbon fibers, such as when he restrained the League of Villains with them during his surprise appearance in My Hero Academia Season 6. Best Jeanist can push his body to the absolute limit to restrain his enemies like that, and he is also willing to take a serious blow from All For One to protect his comrades. Such a humble but tough attitude is to be expected from the new #3 hero, and that kind of fortitude no doubt helped Best Jeanist climb to his lofty rank.
