Is there a more badass female protagonist in video games than Samus Aran? No way. Samus has led the Metroid franchise for decades now, confidently showing mostly male players that female protagonists can be just as fun to play as their male counterparts.

Outside of her traditional suit, Samus sometimes has to fight in her skin tight Zero Suit outfit. Cosplayers have really taken this look and done a lot with it over the years. Here are ten of the most amazing Zero Suit Samus cosplay we love.

10 Shelle-chii

Shelle-chi is a very talented cosplayer that really gave her all in this Samus Aran impersonation. From the heels to the skin-tight suit, and even the gun, everything about this zero-suit Samus really seems to be top-notch.

As the female badass above all female badasses, Samus needs to appear feminine and yet still ready to strike at her enemies. This costume did a fantastic job of sending that exact message. We hope to see more Metroid cosplay from Shelle-chi in the future.

9 Amourath

Samus Aran may be one of the world's most iconic heroines, but a cosplayer's ability to bring the character to life in their own unique way is ceaselessly amazing. Amourath pays homage to the character in this stunning cosplay without compromising anything that makes the character truly special. If you look at the design of the suit, she has all kinds of minuscule details drawn on to make this costume a pin-point accurate one.

Amourath has helped make Samus appear approachable and gentle, yet still keeps her signature edge. Any person seeing this cosplay would no doubt be inspired.

8 Holly Wolf

This cosplay, done by Holly Wolf, creates a slightly different version of the Zero Suit Samus than the previous entries of this list did. While still keeping to the core of the character, Wolf did a great job making sure her cosplay was unique and stood out amongst the rest.

One particularly noticeable difference that this cosplay has is its color. The blue in Samus' suit is much more light, which helps to accent both her moral and feminine qualities. The large gun and hard expression both communicate that she also isn't going to take crap from anyone.

7 Blondiee

Blondiee's take on the Samus Aran costume is just as creative as all the others. The design on the suit is perfectly identical to that of the one in the video games. Every curve and line is in the exact right place that it should be.

Another great take that Blondiee makes on the famous video game character is her gun. Although smaller than some of the other guns that cosplayers have made on this list, it still instills a sense of homage to the one from the game that Aran uses to fend off her enemies. Overall, another great cosplay to add to the list.

6 Anya iChios

This take on the zero-suit is different than the others on this list in some very important and interesting ways. Most noticeably, the textures on the suit are extremely detailed and thought out. It must have taken a lot of time for Anya iChios to gather all the different materials needed to make a suit with various textures.

All of that hard work that iChios put into her cosplay was totally worth it. The detailed textures on the suit make it feel like an actual, practical suit that Samus might wear. That's what cosplay is all about, bringing nerds' dreams into reality.

5 Jenna Lynn Meowri

What outsiders who have never played the Metroid series may not know is that Metroid is actually the name of an invasive alien species that, thanks to careless space exploration, has begun to spread across the galaxy, infesting every single planet they manage to reach.

By including one of the Metroids on her head, cosplayer Jenna Lynn Meowri pays respect to the source material while pulling off an adorable and comical scene that we've simply fallen in love with.

4 Vixence

The light coming off of Vixence's temple really helps bring this cosplay above the rest of the pack. Clearly very experienced at creating top-level cosplay, Vixence uses other lights and bright colors to help bring out the sense that this zero-suit is futuristic in nature.

We see this both in the green highlights on her wristbands as well as the lights coming off of her gun. Samus often has to use plenty of lights in the many dark places she explores that have been overrun with Metroids.

3 Ri Care

In her version of the Samus Aran, Ri Care decided to embody someone a little more sensual in nature. This unique angle still captures all the badassery of the character that fans really appreciate as well.

Between the gun and her pulled-back hair, this zero-suit Samus is certainly ready and seemingly able to jump into action. The detail on her boots and wristbands are also another great set of touches that fully flesh out the character.

2 Magaza Lloyd

Another fan favorite cosplayer entered into this list is Magaza Lloyd. Magaza's costume doesn't appear to have any texture to it. For some cosplayers, this may have been a slight negative, but she makes up with it with extremely intricate, accurate designs on the body of the suit.

In addition to the great lines and designs within the suit, Magaza also has a big, really cool looking gun that is accurate to the one that Samus Aran used in the games.

1 Li Kovacs

Every single thing about Li Korvacs's cosplay is exactly perfect. The texture of the suit feels like it is an actual Zero Suit with outer space applications.

In addition to that,  the designs on the suit are great, Korvacs looks perfect for the part, and even the gun looks good. She truly looks like she was just ripped straight out of the game. By far, this is the best Zero Suit Samus cosplay out there right now.
