Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for "The Boss," a comedy starring Melissa McCarthy as a not-so-nice titan of industry and Kristen Bell as her put-upon assistant.

Directed by McCarthy's husband Ben Falcone ("Tammy"), the film follows the Oscar nominee as business mogul Michelle Darnell, who's imprisoned for insider trading. When she re-emerges six months later, penniless, she moves in with her former assistant (Bell), and tries to claw her way back to the top, by organizing a Girl Scout-like Dandelion troop into a brownie-selling army.

Co-written by Falcone, McCarthy and Steve Mallory, "The Boss" also stars Peter Dinklage, Kathy Bates and Kristen Schaal. The film arrives April 8.
